Live A&E waits

Live emergency department waits for Northern Ireland come from the nidirect emergency department waiting times page (Northern Ireland Executive; figures supplied by the Health and Social Care Trusts), which is Crown copyright and reusable under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Our server fetches it at most every 10 minutes and shows the source’s own update time. We do not reproduce live figures from NHS trust websites whose terms do not permit reuse; we link to them from the live A&E page.

How towns are matched to trusts

Each town is mapped to the NHS trust (or, outside England, the health board or HSC trust) that runs its nearest major hospital, with a second trust where a town is commonly served by two. Patients can be referred elsewhere, so treat the figures as a guide to local services rather than a prediction for any individual.
